The Fall Inshore Shrimp Season in Louisiana opens today, August 13, 2012.Contact one of the "Sellers" to put in an order for some fresh, Louisiana, wild caught shrimp.

Inland shrimp season is currently closed in Louisiana statewide. However, that doesn't mean that shrimp are not available. Shrimpers are catching shrimp in offshore waters of the Gulf and in passes up to the "firing lines". Firing lines are areas which mark the inside/outside shrimping boundaries. In Cameron the line is fished on outgoing tides using wingnets or butterfly nets or by floating trawls off the bottom to catch suspended shrimp. Shrimping is best around new and full moon phases. The full moon is this week Aug. 2, 2012, so the strongest tides will move 2-3 days prior and after the full moon. So call one of the "Sellers" on the website to order the freshest, wild caught shrimp directly from the boat.
